Sandro SS18 collection

For the Spring-Summer 2018 season, the Sandro woman flourishes in multiple inspirations and audacious games of contrast, between a manifest floral presence and an androgynous aspiration spiced with Cuban rhythms. She freely composes a resolutely feminine look and opens the way to new aesthetic paths.

It all begins with colour, the unconscious starting point of the season. With the daylight lengthening, the longing is for tender pink, sky blue, anise yellow and light beige. The palette extends to more intense shades such as deep blue or pine green and composes a real f lower garden. Spontaneously, the f lowers become obvious and bloom over the collection. They blossom on blouses, dresses and combinations. They unfold like light chains on silks and summer cottons. Elaborated with retro accents, they are reminiscent of the free and wild American rockers’ prints from the 70’s. However, far from the artificial paradises, these are made for truly real desires.

To this floral atmosphere, Evelyne Chetrite confronts the masculine American sportswear and work-wear codes. At first, they were thought out to protect and even exaggerate masculinity, but here they reveal the woman. The suit trousers are ubiquitous but elaborated in light cotton and soft hues. The darted trousers are sharply cut at the ankles. The jackets are adjusted with suppleness. Severity is not the rule, either that of Wall Street bankers, or that of the workers, who see their work jumpsuits tinged in tender pink or imagined in an intense purple short dress version. From the American football players are borrowed the lacing plays that are applied to the sleeves of a suit jacket or to the deep cleavage of a knit tank top. The training jerseys are pinched and twisted into an off-white sweater with a deep V-neck.

As if to spice up the summer, the atmosphere of an old-fashioned Havana gives rhythm to the collection. Pearly beads boldly display the name of Cuba on denims and shirts. Vintage fashion t-shirts are f locked with «Made In Cuba». Zigzags are drawn on a green and yellow mesh dress. Above all, everything is blended freely, with strength and conviction. An immaculate lace dress is combined with a business-stripped, cotton-cut babydoll. A trench coat is associated with striped tracksuit bottoms. A button dress is transformed into a supple kimono, and worn over a bra and subtle black trousers.

For the Sandro Woman, it is by distorting the codes that she can explore her own style. All associations are possible as long as they are owned.

55FIFTY7, the unique diamond design studio, announces its first collaboration with the emerging  jewellery designer, Khlood Arab.

Khlood approached 55FIFTY7 with her dream of designing her own collection – and with the support of the studio, created initial designs that took inspiration from nature and the language of the flowers to their heartfelt meanings  – which were brought to life, resulting in for the LUDA Fine Jewellery collection.

A collection inspired by iconic women in history. We create travel journals that take us through emblematic places and to amazing destinations. The first part of the collection takes us on a trip across Europe: to France, its beautiful coastline and charming countryside. Afterwards, Africa, to discover Morocco, to then continuing through Kenya and finishing the season in Bali.

Our Heroines:

Amelía Earhart, an author and aviator. She was the first female to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean, in 1928.

Freya Stark, explorer and travel writer. First European to travel through the southern Arabian Deserts.

Alexandra David Neel, an explorer and writer. She is most known for being the first European to visit Lhasa, in Tibet, in 1924

Marc Jacobs Resort 2018 Collection

Centered around the idea of movement, the Marc Jacobs Resort 2018 collection features classic silhouettes embellished with fringe, beads, tassels and pom-poms. A color palette of pastel blue, lilac and yellow with pops of red and black, create a light and airy feel to the 1960’s inspired RTW. Cocktail dresses are a focus, in duchess satin with matching beaded trim and crepe de chine with silk fringe embroidery. Sheer organza overlays on sleeveless dresses, shell tops and pin-tuck blouses play to the lighter mood of the season, while vintage inspired lace, bows and beaded collars, are made modern paired with cropped jackets and a classic trench coat. Crystal trimmed denim and an oversized nylon bomber jacket, add a casual spirit to the refined classic looks.

Classic Marc Jacobs bag shapes get a seasonal flair for Resort, offered in smaller variations with embellishments seen in the RTW collection. The Mini Grind and Little Bigshot are smaller versions of their predecessors from the FW17 collection shown in brighter colors with pom-pom and fringe embroidery. A smaller version of the classic Sling bag, the Mini Sling is a key to the collection, offered in classic colors as well as an embellished damask print. The Snapshot continues to be a focus, in new color block variations with complimenting printed straps. Footwear takes a cue from the bags, with iconic Marc Jacobs shapes in new colors and materials. Pointed kitten heels and modest mary-janes offer a refined and feminine look.

To celebrate the new edition of Max Mara Coats! Seoul, a special look has been designed. A coat in pure camel’s hair with brass colour lining, and in the same fabric, a shirt with crystal buttons and French cuffs and pencil skirt. This brass colour is inspired by yughee, precious Korean tableware, used by the royal family and passed from generation to generation.
